From Finance to Foundation: The Making of a Beauty Icon

Huda Kattan didn’t just enter the beauty industry – she revolutionized it. Born in Oklahoma in 1983 to Iraqi parents, Huda’s early life was steeped in a rich blend of cultures.

She pursued a degree in finance at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, where she also met her future husband, Chris Goncalo. However, the corporate world left her unfulfilled, leading her to pivot towards her true passion: beauty.

Determined to follow her passion, she enrolled in the prestigious Joe Blasco Makeup School in Los Angeles and trained as a makeup artist. Soon after, she began working with A-list celebrities like Eva Longoria and Nicole Richie, all while sharing beauty tips and tutorials on her blog and YouTube channel. That’s when Huda Beauty – the brand – was born.
